Our
Story
Since 1964, Evangelistic Missionary Baptist Church has been a spiritual home in Port Hueneme where diverse backgrounds and life experiences unite in Christ. We are a family of Bible-believing worshipers committed to magnifying the honor and excellence of the one true God. Our multi-generational congregation reflects the beautiful diversity of God's kingdom, with members spanning from infants to seniors and representing primarily African American and all other ethnic communities. We believe a healthy church supports one another through every stage of life, from young families to seasoned saints, creating a warm atmosphere where each person is valued, cared for, and equipped to become a mature disciple of Jesus Christ. Located at 125 E. Pearl Street in Port Hueneme's vibrant seaside community, just minutes from beautiful beaches and adjacent to Oxnard, our doors are open to everyone seeking worship, fellowship, and spiritual growth.
We exist to glorify God by accepting Jesus Christ as our personal Savior, developing a personal relationship with Him through prayer, meditation, and worship, and following His commandments to love one another and share the gospel. We fulfill this mission by preaching and teaching the Word of God using the Bible as our divine authority, serving God through worship and dedication to building His kingdom, and evangelizing to bring the knowledge, hope, and love of Jesus Christ to those who do not know Him. We equip believers with the knowledge and power of the Holy Spirit for ministry, foster the Christian development of our youth, and serve one another with mutual concern, support, and encouragement. Through compassionate community outreach, we demonstrate Christ's love in action, support the global church through prayer and resources, provide spiritual educational opportunities for growth and maturity, and develop programs that enlarge our membership and strengthen God's kingdom on earth.

Our vision is to see lives transformed through Jesus Christ, creating a Christ-centered church that reflects God's will in our congregation, community, and the world. Guided by the Holy Spirit and grounded in Scripture, we aspire to build a thriving spiritual home with expanded facilities that accommodate worship, education, and ministry activities throughout the week. As we grow in faith and numbers, we are committed to serving our community daily, investing in our youth through education, and raising up devoted leaders who advance God's kingdom on earth.
